I’m so excited to announce that The Midwest Wife is back! I decided to take a little time off in order to decide what I really wanted to do with my blog. Something that’s always been important to me, is trying to live a more green/non-toxic life. So from here on in, I’m going to use the blog to document my green beauty and lifestyle transition.
One of the first things I did was search for clean beauty boxes similar to Birchbox. I love trying samples before I commit to the actual thing, so a monthly subscription box is perfect for me to help with transition. One of the first one’s I found was Petit Vour. They do a monthly box that is full of cruelty free, non-toxic and plant based beauty finds. Plus, the subscription is only $15 a month!
This cleanser was the first thing I noticed in the box because I was already familiar with Juice Beauty. I had actually picked up another skincare product from them the day I received this box and was so excited to try them together. Stay tuned for another post where I talk about this cleanser as well as the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive mask that I’ve been using.
This was by far the easiest to transition into my regular beauty routine. The directions say to shake and spray in an X shape and then T shape. I did feel as though this gave my makeup a more dewy finish, but I tend to like that look. I did feel that it made my makeup last longer and love the quality. Such a great find, and for the price, I will definitely repurchase.
This perfume has the most wonderful scent, it’s the perfect mix of florals and earthy tones. Also, I love how so little goes a long way with this, the sample will last me a while. I’m not sure if it’s going to be my go to scent, but definitely a wonderful sample.
This came at the most perfect time of year! My skin gets so dry during the winter months and I love to have options for my lips and hands. Although this is technically a lip balm, they do suggest it can be used on hands, nails, cuticles, dry heels and elbows as well. The consistency is thick and has a light coconut smell. Not to mention, it doesn’t leave you feeling sticky like some chapsticks do.
First, the smell of this serum is a perfect rose scent which is actually on purpose. The main benefits of this serum are for the skin, but aromatherapy is another benefit, which I love! Although this sample is small, you actually use it in conjunction with your regular moisturizer by adding 3-4 drops to it before rubbing it into your face and decollate. The serum helps with inflammation and redness, strengthening skin cells as well as helping skin retain moisture. I’ve noticed a difference since adding it to my regular moisturizer. I have also tried it on its own, however I definitely prefer it with a moisturizer.
Overall, I’m definitely loving the Petit Vour box and think it’s worth the monthly price. I’ll continue to search for more green beauty box options and be sure to compile a list of what I find! If you sign up during the month of December for this box, be sure to use the code ONPOINTE to receive a free Au Naturale Lip Stain!
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried Petit Vour or if you currently have any green beauty favorites! I’d love to give them a try!
